Intended primarily for stock heads that have not been ported.Does away with original potentially wrecking Cam chains , as cam chain debris will score oil pump ,  blowing up motor if gets inside pump and working bearings and parts  !! If keeping bike do this ESSENTIAL UPGRADE! !!

Can be used with stock springs.So no head work or extra costs !

Here's a comparison between gear and chain drive - see difference and no wearing parts and much less effort to turn! ie losing bhp with motor and worse all the debris from tensioners blowing up motor- win win mod! call Mike 01773835666  for details fits ALL twin cams and now for Milwaulkee * which have same problems!! thought they would have learned but way cheaper to build motors with unbalanced un trued cranks now than in Evo and before days and then no chains needed! ..510 valve lift. IOG = gear drive cams with Inner & Outer drive Gears. Complete kit with installation hardware, bearings and gasket. Bolt-in. 88 to 103" engines with compression ratios between 9.7:1 to 10.5:1 and 106" to 124" engines with 9:1 to 10:1 CR. Provides massive horsepower and torque from 3000 -5000 RPM range. The gear drive system is in fact a revolutionary different and much more reliable construction. Especially in high lift/performance applications, when compared with the OEM chain-drive design. A gear driven camshaft is stronger and will not give any of the mechanical problems connected with the OEM chain driven camshafts. The S&S gear drive kit will increase valve timing accuracy, and therefore horsepower, by eliminating the timing chain lash and loosely fit stock cam gears. The only downside of gear drive is that you may experience a slight increase in mechanical sound, this is why OEM is using a chain. It has no other mechanical advantages whatsoever. Since the chain guides and tensioner are eliminated there is no longer the possibility for these parts to fail and damage other engine parts. The S&S gear drive kit reverses the direction of rotation of the rear cam, providing additional operating clearance between cam lobes. As a result, higher cam lifts are possible with the S&S gear driven cams. Note: With the exception of the 475G and 510G cam, adjustable pushrods are required to compensate for the smaller camshaft base circle of these cams. Note: Material may have to be removed from the inner surface of the OEM gear cover before installation of the S&S outer drive gears. Note: The required S&S installation kit (503566) for gear drive cams is included in this complete (IOG) kit. Note: Using .625", .635", .640" and .675" lift cams will require crankcase clearancing. Note: OEM beehive valve springs of 04-17 Dyna; 04-17 Softail and 04-16 Touring models will acommodate valve lifts up to 590" valve lift and, 160 lb. of valve seat force, up to 6200RPM. Running higher than 6200 RPM or lifts greater than 590" will require performance valve springs.

Kits reverse the rear cam's direction of rotation and provide additional operating clearance between cam lobes; the result is that higher cam lifts are possible with the gear drive kit

To install S&S gear drive cams, material must be removed from the inner surface of the stock gear cover

Cam bearings and gaskets must be replaced when installing new cams

Also, a hydraulic press and other professional-level tools are required to install these kits

S&S recommends that adjustable pushrod/cover kit 14-9988 be used
